Frequently asked questions

What is Finudy?

Finudy is a receipt and household-finance app from Switzerland. It reads every line of your receipts, keeps your purchases and budgets in one place and shows where the same product costs less, based on real prices from receipts.

Is Finudy free?

Yes. Finudy is free to download and use, and it shows no ads.

Is Finudy available for iPhone and Android?

Finudy for Android is available on Google Play now. The iPhone app is coming soon to the App Store. You can also sign in on finudy.com and add receipts in your browser.

Which receipts and shops does Finudy read?

Finudy reads receipts from any shop: paper receipts, PDFs, screenshots and Swiss QR bills, in several currencies. Long receipts take up to 10 photos. Its shop directory knows more than 1,000 shops, including Migros, Coop, Denner, Lidl and Aldi.

How do I add receipts by email?

Forward the receipt from the email address you use to sign in to receipts@finudy.com. Finudy saves the PDF or photo as your receipt and keeps the email with it as proof of purchase. Deleting the receipt deletes both.

How does Finudy compare prices?

Confirmed receipts add to a shared price library as weekly shop prices from several shoppers, never as your purchase or with your name. Finudy compares the same product across shops, by unit price when pack sizes differ, and shows where others paid less.

How does the price check work in the shop?

Point your phone at the price tag or the barcode. Finudy shows what you paid last time, prices from the Finudy community and from online shops in your country, and product details such as Nutri-Score and ingredients.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your data is encrypted in transfer and in storage. Your purchases stay private: the shared price library shows only weekly shop prices from several shoppers, never your purchase or your name. Health purchases are shared only if you allow it, and you can export or delete your data at any time.

Can I use Finudy with my family or for my business?

Yes. Next to your private space, you can share a family space for the shopping and keep a business space for expenses. The business space can email you, and your accountant if you like, a report of each month’s expenses. Each space shows only what belongs to it.

How do I set a budget?

Just say it, for example “500 francs a month for food.” Finudy sets up the budget and keeps it up to date with every receipt.

Which countries and languages does Finudy support?

Finudy is made in Switzerland and reads receipts in many currencies. The app is available in 22 languages, including German, French, Italian, English and Swiss German. Price comparisons are richest in Switzerland, where most shops in the directory are.

Does Finudy work with ChatGPT or Claude?

Yes. Connect Finudy to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client to ask about your spending, add receipts and compare prices right in the chat, under the same rules as the app.

Can Finudy hold my customer cards?

Yes. Under Cards, scan the barcode or QR code of almost any customer card, or type in the number. At the checkout, open the card and let the cashier scan your phone; it works offline too. Keep a card to yourself or share it in your family or business space.
